December sunshine in St. Paul is as rare as it is special.  The sun is very low in the horizon and comes in nearly parallel to the ground.  The sunlight filters through a clear winter atmosphere and bathes the world in a unique, strong, yet soft, frontal light.  When, and if, the sun shines in December, I am out exploring the alleyways in my neighborhood in hopes of catching the wonder of this special time of year.  I have to be quick because the sun peeks above the tree line for only a few hours each day.  Occasionally I welcome my shadow into the scene.

I am especially interested in color, texture, composition, shadows, and above all, beautiful December sunlight.
