Tarragona

The streets of Tarragona, Spain, are lined with ancient buildings that come alive in the morning sun.  There’s a brief magical window, maybe 20 minutes, when the sun spills into the narrow alleys, transforming these ancient facades to reveal brilliant colors, deep textures, and striking compositions.  Each of these collage photos is assembled from three different photographs to form a seamless triptych.

Printed on a polyester weave, vinyl substrate, the works are mounted an inch or two off the wall, unframed, like hanging textiles.  They move and bend.  They are not only images, but objects occupying space.

In 2026 my collage photography has been featured in three exhibitions - Untitled 20 , at Soo Visual Arts Center, Minneapolis;  Light on Cut Paper, at New Orleans Photo Alliance, New Orleans; and opening July 18, Making Strange, at Praxis Photo Arts Center, Minneapolis.
