The streets of Tarragona, Spain, are lined with ancient buildings that come alive in the morning sun.  There’s a brief magical window, maybe 20 minutes, when the sun spills into the narrow alleys, transforming these ancient facades to reveal brilliant colors, deep textures, and striking compositions.  Each of these collage photos is assembled from three different photographs to form a seamless triptych.

 My practice through the years has been supported with fellowships and grants from the McKnight, Jerome, and Bush Foundations, as well as the NEA, and MSAB. Over the course of my career, I have exhibited at major museums including the Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum, Hirshhorn Museum, Walker Art Center, Minnesota Museum of American Art, and others. I remain active in the regional arts community, mounting solo exhibitions of collage photography at the Pump House Regional Art Center, La Crosse, 2023, Hopkins Center for the Arts, 2021, and a group show at Gamut Gallery, 2025.  Most recently my work was included in the 2026 Untitled 20 group show at Soo Visual Arts Center, Minneapolis.
